Rain-Spattered Street

Lately, I had been thinking if it rains once more I will throw a fit. But then, I paint a painting like this one and all of a sudden I want more rain!

The painting has multiple layers. I scumbled onto dry paint with a palette knife. I scraped off. I scratched off. Then more paint on… a push and pull until this effect was achieved.

In this two-day workshop, Trisha shows you three ways to strengthen your paintings — through Color, Contrast and Composition. Topics include how to create compelling design with shapes, how contrast supports the painting’s center of interest and how color functions to excite the viewer. Demos, critiques and easel-side instruction. Emphasis is on learning ideas over creating completed paintings.
